Zahra Azharirad defended her MSc. thesis entitled as "An Adaptive Sampling Methodfor smartwatch Energy Management"

Here is the Abstract of her Thesis:

In the realm of healthcare, energy consumption is a major issue when it comes to sensor nodes and IoT devices. As these nodes are responsible for gathering sensor data from patients and transmitting it to healthcare systems, it's essential to use small, low-energy devices to ensure continuous communication. However, managing energy consumption is a fundamental challenge. By controlling the sampling rate during appropriate times, it's possible to manage energy in wearable sensors within the IoT framework. This thesis investigates the right changes and data sampling methods, and by utilizing a controlled data sampling approach, the collected data's accuracy is assessed using a convolutional neural network. The results show that accuracy is maintained at approximately 90.75%. Furthermore, we observe a reduction in energy consumption of wearable sensors due to controlling the sampling rate at the required times.
